Define the excellence of your facility by providing continuing resources to your graduates.

Have you ever noticed how clients make it through a rigorous rehabilitation program - then graduate filled with excitement, hope, joy, and knowledge, ready to face the world newly sober - only to be beaten down by life’s realities when they exit your doors?

The success rates for our industry are shocking; on any given iteration of the relapse/recovery cycle, only fractions achieve any level of sustained sobriety.

It has long been a cliché that anyone can stay sober in an intensive program, but it is a different story once back home.

Bringing that sober life into the “real world” is where the work of getting sober meets the work of staying sober. Your program does not need to end when they leave your facility.

I am Charlie King, Texas-licensed LPC, LMFT, and LCDC. My expertise in substance use disorders comes from many years of education, training, and focus – as well as a personal and family history of addiction and recovery. My approach includes elements of Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory, neuroscience, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – all tied together with general mindfulness and a client-centered approach.

My program for individualized aftercare support includes individual therapy, group therapy, and medical referrals as needed.

Clients may benefit from any mix of these support offerings, and deciding how to proceed rests with them. Motivated clients make the best candidates, and giving determined individuals access to comprehensive support upon completing your program will increase their chances of success.

My practice accepts Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oxford, Oscar Health, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. I conduct all sessions via HIPAA-compliant telehealth (a model I have used successfully since the onset of the COVID-19 restrictions).

I hold high regard for 12-step practices and principles – but not exclusively - I believe there are many roads to the same destination. I am committed to addressing comorbidity and addressing underlying psychopathologies concurrently. It would be greatly appreciated if you would like to provide my contact details to your patients when they formulate their aftercare plans. In addition, I would be glad to discuss my vision of this process with you or a staff member should you be interested.
