About Charlie King
Charles (Charlie) King holds LPC, LCDC, and LMFT credentials in the state of Texas. Charlie received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Lewis University, MBA from Saint Leo University, M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Liberty University, and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Houston Baptist University.
Using a holistic approach to therapy, Charlie integrates mindfulness and meditation with traditional therapy methods to help people create lasting change in their lives. He has training and experience using EMDR, CBT, Gottman couples therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), and various modalities of group therapy.
Charlie began his career as a therapist after a successful career as an engineer for a major oil company living and working in many international locations as an expat worker. He is also a veteran of the United States Navy.
In 2014, Charlie received an advanced RYT-500 yoga teacher certificate from Bo Forbes at the New England School of Integrative Yoga and Embodied Awareness. He is passionate about working with people to help transform their lives, become more self-aware, and live more mindfully.
When he’s not working, Charlie enjoys practicing yoga, traveling, entertaining his dogs, vegetable gardening, studying eastern philosophies, and reading history/biographies.
