Welcome! Time for the next chapter.
You will hear it. “Relapse is a part of recovery.” Unfortunately, while there is a grain of truth for those who eventually remain sober, it is also a ticket to an endless cycle of relapse and recovery that traps many who want long-term change that leads to a full and rewarding life.
If you have gotten to this point, you have already done much hard work and committed to a new way of living. However, here is a little hint from my personal experience and countless others; the temptation has been hiding in a dark corner, waiting for the right time to spring a trap. It may already be whispering in your ear, or even while in rehab, “You can manage it now. You just needed a break. Just pace yourself.”
THIS IS A LIE. The same fundamental self-deception keeps people trapped in addictive behavior in the first place.
